I almost let July get away from me. That's the kind of month it has been, with a one-up, one down kind of feeling. Definitely more up than down, though, so that's okay. July brought a birthday to Jack on the 13th, which is also Dan and Hildy's anniversary. Today, the 31st, makes Heather and Russell each a year older. Now we have a brand new name to add to our family, with the birth of Michael and Shoshanna's son, Sequoia Michael Osterfeld, on the 29th. HAPPY
BIRTHDAYS and HAPPY
ANNIVERSARY The proud and happy parents and the little one have gone home now and are in the process of figuring out how to get some sleep.
It is wonderful to welcome a new, little person. Hi, Baby! We
are looking forward to next Saturday, August 6, to the Family Summer Party
at Hildy and Dan's. Most of our big bunch will be there, with the
exception of Dave and Anne, who are houseboating with three other
couples at Lake Shushwap; Heather, Thomas and Skyler in Maryland;
Gordon and Alice, who are out doing one of their wilderness volunteering
projects; and probably a few I don't know about. I'm putting in an order
with the weatherman for weather as sunny as it has been, but a few degrees
cooler. I hope to do better about getting the news out for August, but I'm sure you will agree this one made up in content for what it lacked in length. Sometimes us "oldies" have to take it easy. Thought
for the day: Junk is the stuff we throw away -- stuff is the junk we save. Dixie/Dorothea, Senior Editor |
