About the Artist
I have alway enjoyed exploring many creative mediums, including acrylic, oil and pastel painting, pottery, wood carving, as well as stained glass, enameling, jewelry making and bronze casting. I love the process of learning and exploring.
I was born and raised in the Northwest, and received a Bachelor's degree in fine arts from Boise State University. In 2001, my husband, John, and I left our art gallery in Seattle, and set out to focus on personal creative projects that had been pulling at us for some time. Supporting myself with creative and not-so-creative odd jobs of all kinds since then, I've put "creativity" on high priority. I currently live near Seattle, with my husband, John and our dog, Barley.
During the process of sculpting and patenting my Oak and Acorn decorated wall blocks, I connected with Nichols Bros Stoneworks in Snohomish, Washington. Through them, I have had the wonderful opportunity to really explore sculpting in clay, and to learn the fascinating process Nichols Bros uses to creating molds from my original sculptures. Their complicated process reproduces them amazingly, with the finest details intact.
I love working with clay, and the challenge of starting with a concept for a sculpture, and working with a passion to make the clay come alive with its own character. I work hard to create that force that connects with people's emotions.
My statues have been collected by people living in every corner of the country. Commissions and sales from this website will help me continue to do what I love most - Create!!
Please contact me with any questions, suggestions or custom requests - I'd love to hear from you!
