It felt so amazing to be here - we had driven by Llangadfan and through Llanfair Caereinion without stopping on the way to our B&B, and we were really filled with emotion. We were awake very early, and hopped in the car at dawn with our map, to go see some of the places where our families had been. We found Coed y Garthllwyd, where Mom's great grandmother, Esther Richards had lived as a girl, and then we drove to Llanfihangel Yng Ngwynfa and explored the churchyard there. It was a little rainy, but the clouds and light were lovely, and we kept our map out and really enjoyed just poking along one tiny lane after another. It was a perfect introduction.
